Eliminate our local Redondo Beach Fire Department?

Should we eliminate our local Redondo Beach Fire Department and contract with LA County Fire Department?

This Tuesday night (April 16th) 6pm the City Council will be discussing the Phase 2 Fire Study results and analyzing the pros and cons of moving away from our local fire department and contracting with LA County Fire instead. This is a major decision that all residents should be a part of.

To keep the same level of service we residents have come to expect, it will cost us more than what we are currently paying if we contract with LA County.

The County contract is proposing a reduction of dedicated staff located inside the City. In the proposal some staff will be shared resources with surrounding cities.
